how we help

What is a Cyber Health Check Service?
A Cyber Health Check Service provides a high-level snapshot of current risks and vulnerabilities associated with the information security posture of your organisation that will assist in determining appropriate programs of remediation and improvement.
The Details
The first phase of the Cyber Health Check Service is to provide a questionnaire and checklist, that is in alignment with ISO27001 and the Essential 8 framework, to both the business owner or key stakeholder and where relevant to your Managed Service Provider (MSP). The Cyber Health Check Service is designed to assess the culture and controls around information security in your organisation. Once we have received the completed information our team will conduct a short workshop to clarify answers and develop a picture of existing stakeholder understanding and nature of the supporting framework.
Engaging in Cyber Collab’s Cyber Health Check Service is about more than just identifying risks—it’s about understanding how people, processes and technology work together, and looking at how to strengthen each part to build client trust as well as a resilient, prosperous future for your business. – Cyber Collab CEO, Chris Watson
The second phase is to perform open-source intelligence analysis to determine what, if any, information is either publicly available or resident in the dark web that could be used to compromise the organisation in any way. For example, compromised credentials, network or system information and/or personal identifiable information. In addition, we will perform a series of automated external vulnerability scans to highlight any potential vulnerabilities on relevant systems. At the conclusion of both phases a report is provided that outlines the findings and areas of potential risk that require remediation. We then meet with you for a report debrief to review the findings, make recommendations for next steps and answer your questions

Can a Cyber Health Check Service help my business meet regulatory requirements?
Yes. While undertaking Cyber Collab’s Cyber Health Check Service does not provide certification of any specific regulatory standards, it does help clarify to what extent an organisation aligns with a desired cyber security framework.
My organisation already has an internal/external IT function, why should I get another expert review?
Many businesses are supported by general IT specialists. These professionals are similar to medical GPs, they have a broad IT knowledge but perhaps not the cyber security expertise to counter cutting-edge cyber attacks. Additionally, its rarely wise for anyone to mark their own homework. Our Cyber Health Check Service is designed to provide peace of mind by verifying the work of your trusted IT partner. The process also ensures business owners and managed service providers (MSP) are aligned regarding the organisation’s cyber posture, something that can drift apart during long-standing partnerships.
How does a Cyber Health Check Service benefit IT providers/MSPs?
Engaging a third party to verify your work bolsters your client’s trust and adds weight to the security recommendations you make.
How often should my organisation undertake a Cyber Health Check Service?
Once a year. The cyber landscape has always been fast evolving. AI developments have only sped up the development of tools used by cybercriminals. Reviewing your cyber security posture regularly helps defend your organisation against current threats.
What size business should conduct a Cyber Health Check Service?
Any size. No business is too big or small for cybercriminals to attack. In fact, the ASD’s Cyber Threat Report 2023-24 identified that the average cost for a small business to respond to a cyber incident was up 8% on the year 2022-23.
Is a Cyber Health Check Service expensive?
At Cyber Collab we understand businesses are under competing financial priorities. That’s why we offer payment plans tailored to you. Investing in a cyber security health check outweighs the cost of responding to a cyber breach. The ASD’s Cyber Threat Report 2023-24 identified that the average cost responding to a cyber incident for small businesses was AUD 46,600, AUD 62,800 for medium businesses and AUD 63,600 for large businesses.
